Bioinformatician and Research Information Technology Administrator Develop, deploy and maintain GNU GPL-licensed bioinformatics tools (e.g. for microarray analysis) that leverage existing analysis software and High Performance Computing Clusters (HPCCs) to improve research workflow. Maintain GNU GPL licensed database and web applications to support issue tracking, purchasing, software license checkout, and scheduling for shared lab equipment. Provide tech support, and computer hardware repair for researchers.REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or Information Technology. Extensive experience in Bioinformatics. Extensive experience programming in C/C++ and experience with R, Java, PHP, AJAX. Extensive experience installing, supporting and repairing Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows PC systems. Extensive experience using and supporting standard applications: Microsoft Office Suite,Mozilla/Firefox/Thunderbird and Adobe Acrobat Photoshop (or the GIMP). Extensive knowledge of Linux/Unix TCP/IP, DHCP, UDP, LDAP, IMAP, POP, Microsoft Exchange Telnet/SSH, FTP/SCP.
