    BACKGROUND

    This position is responsible for developing and maintaining web-based programs and computer programs associated with microarray database management and analysis, modification of existing programs, and developing programs to meet individual needs of biomedical researchers.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Program using PHP, HTML, and related languages to develop, modify and maintain programs for investigators in bioinformatics and other related areas.

    Manage bioinformatics databases.

    Maintain and operate server and related computer equipment.

    Track and report investigator utilization.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, bioinformatics or related field.

    PREFERENCES

    Master's degree in computer sciences, bioinformatics or related field. Knowledge of MIAME standards, experience in microarray analysis, knowledge of Bioconductor, knowledge of PERL programming language. Training in statistics. Familiarity with MatLab. Familiarity with Affymetrix microarray platforms.
