    We are currently looking for a Senior Scientist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to make a significant contribution to an award winning and one of the most successful discovery informatics organizations around today.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The scientist will be required to be working with a team comprising of computational biologists and chemists in the USA and in India. S/he will understand customer’s goals and needs and the overall business environment. The primary responsibility is to closely work with the customer’s discovery groups and responsible for the definition and delivery of Informatics projects. The position requires an individual who has the ability to apply techniques from one domain into another and can “think out of the box”.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Ph.D in Biology, Computational Biology, or relevant discipline with at least 2 years post doctoral or industrial experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery is required. Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience will also be considered. The candidate must have had experience in the use and analysis of genomics data. Must be proficient in the use of gene expression analysis tools (eg: Genespring), and pathway databases (eg: Ingenuity).

    PREFERENCES

    Familiarity with the use and interpretation of toxicogenomics data is a big plus. Knowledge of drug development processes is an asset. A broad knowledge of statistics and statistical methods used in analyzing genomics data is preferred. Experience in any SAS, S-Plus, R, Matlab is preferred. Experience in scripting languages such as Perl and Python is preferred. Knowledge of relational databases is preferred.

    Must be committed to excellent customer service. Must have strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills. Requires strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. Must be self motivating, with strong work ethic, and the ability to conduct independent research.

    LOCALE

    New Jersey. Candidates must have valid work permits to work in the US. Position involves travel within US.
