Scientist (Bioinformatics)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Genentech seeks an exceptionally talented and motivated Ph.D. level scientist to apply bioinformatics and oncogenomics technologies in the selection of patient populations for Genentech therapeutic products. The successful candidate will lead a small group to provide bioinformatics support for our oncology diagnostics labs, develop tools for discovery of molecular markers and signatures and investigate the pathways and other biological mechanisms underlying drug response. As a part of these collaborative efforts, this position will have access to our extensive computational resources and genomic, microarray and clinical data to identify patient populations that benefit from improved drug efficacy or safety.

REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking outstanding computational biologists with successful postdoctoral research experience and an excellent publication records. The successful candidate must possess solid computer programming skills and quantitative data analysis capabilities. Experience with clinical data, oncogenomics, cancer-related pathways and statistical methods is highly desirable. Applicants should be highly motivated, resourceful and enthusiastic about improving cancer therapy.
