    In July 2001 I finished my studies with a Master's Degree in Computer Science. After four years at Politecnico di Torino (Turin) in Northern Italy I had the chance to continue studying in Norway as an exchange student (Erasmus). There I met a professor who introduced me to bioinformatics, and the second year I came back to Norway to develop my thesis project with him.

    My thesis is trying to find an algorithm for semi-automatic annotation by text comparison using textual descriptions of genes and gene classes. I used GOC classes and I searched for gene textual descriptions in Medline after some trials with SwissProt. The best got results are FPA ~0.5 and FCP ~0.25.
