BACKGROUND
The Department of Clinical Sciences at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is offering a post-doc position in computational systems biology.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on an exiting project analyzing host-pathogen interactions in collaboration with experimental labs. The project involves the development of algorithms for reconstructing biological networks, analyzing such networks by integration with genome-scale data and potentially develop predictive computer models.REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate would have an interdisciplinary background with a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry. Substantial training in computer science/theoretical biology with knowledge in molecular biology, as well as programming experience in C++, Java, Perl, Python is required. A basic understanding in graph theory and immunology is preferred.TERMS
