    Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, is the world leader in the discovery, development and delivery of elite crop genetics. We are looking for a Bioinformatics Support Manager in Wilmington, DE.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate will foster and maintain professional relationships with Research staff, seeking to understand their current and potential Bioinformatics needs, and effectively communicating the urgency and impact of these needs to key stakeholders. This position will contribute to research projects through ad-hoc Bioinformatics analyses as well as leading multi-disciplinary project teams responsible for the design, development and deployment of Bioinformatics solutions. In this role, the candidate will also support bioinformatics applications and datasets through application testing, user training, documentation, and ensuring the resolution of user identified software issues.

    REQUIREMENTS

    A Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Genetics, Plant Biology, or a related field with 3+ years of post-degree experience is required. Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills are crucial, and the successful candidate must have superior written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrable experience in the fields of Bioinformatics and Genomics research is required; industrial research experience in crop or plant biotechnology is highly preferred. Excellent knowledge of the latest bioinformatics methods, tools, and databases is essential, and demonstrated skills in both Windows and UNIX environments are required. Proficiency with a variety of data management and analysis tools such as Perl, Excel, SQL and Spotfire is necessary; other software development skills would also be beneficial.
