RESPONSIBILITIES
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute - an academic partner of Harvard University and one of the world's leading cancer research institutions is seeking a Project Specialist to help select/implement/develop analytical applications and pipelines that support biomedical research at the Farber. The position would be ideal for a candidate with proven record of subject matter knowledge in clinical research, statistical analysis and software development.
The primary role of this position will be to act as a subject matter expert in clinical informatics. The responsibilities also include requirements gathering, documenting processes and workflows, lead architectural planning, system design and development efforts and help develop state of the art interoperable software applications to support biomedical research needs.
REQUIREMENTS
1. M.S. or Ph.D. in computer science/mathematics/statistics/life sciences with proven record of developing software tools and pipelines for biomedical research.
2. In-depth knowledge of application development for biomedical research. Open source application development experience preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of Java and web services required. Experience in developing applications using R/Matlab/other statistical packages preferred.
4. Critical reasoning skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail; Leadership skills and ability to develop/present strategic ideas to senior management, executives, symposiums and seminars required.
5. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
