    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The node on Biomedical Informatics of the Spanish Institute of Bioinformatics, “Instituto Nacional de Bioinformática (INB)”, is settled in the Research Unit on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) (http://www.imim.es/grib), a joint unit of the IMIM-Hospital del Mar and the University Pompeu Fabra, which is located at the PRBB, Barcelona. The aim of the node is to develop strategies, methods and applications that facilitate the biomedical application of bioinformatics and other computational approaches, with the purpose of contributing to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human diseases. We require a highly motivated candidate that will be involved in the development of methods and tools that allow the integration and subsequent computational exploitation of biomedical information of diverse sources and heterogeneous nature. Competitive salary will be offered according to experience.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Applicants must hold a degree in Computer Science or have a proven record in software development. Advanced proficiency in Java, experience in web application development technologies and knowledge of Unix/Linux is essential. Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and experience in Perl and R languages are desired. Knowledge of Java Spring framework would be a plus.
