    BACKGROUND

    My client is a privately held company offering a platform for computing acceleration based on custom programming of FPGAs. This approach provides supercomputing power for compute-intensive applications in industries such as bioinformatics, oil and gas, and finance. The platform consists of a Virtual Processor and an SDK which enable FPGAs to be programmed easier and faster than ever before possible.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Currently, this company is seeking an Applications Engineer to support their growing customer base. Their primary function will be to help customers understand the new programming tools and the programming models so they can implement their own applications.

    Primary responsibilities will include applications development, benchmarking, consultation and software technical support to scientists and users.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong programming skills in Fortran or C/C++ with a emphasis on scientific applications.
    • Experience with genomics applications using BLASTN, Clusta, SSearch or other genetic sequencing tools.
    • Excellent customer skills.
    • Aptitude for problem solving and issue resolution.
    • Ability to work independently.
