BACKGROUND

Two postdoc positions are available in the state of the art research environment of the recently inaugurated Price Center for Translational Research of Albert Einstein College of Medicine to develop methods for protein structure modeling and design and for computational drug design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main tasks involve developing custom optimization approaches, both on the level of developing novel algorithms and scoring functions, for protein structure modeling and design and for modeling protein-substrate interactions. The research environment is highly interdisciplinary with numerous collaborations with experimentalists.

REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate holds a PhD degree in relevant fields (e.g. computational biology, chemistry, physics) and has an extensive computational background in scripting and programming languages, familiar with Linux operating system. Familiar with bioinformatics programs and applications and has a strong working knowledge of research concepts and techniques.
