RESPONSIBILITIES
- Multifaceted position with responsibilities in applications development and support, data analysis, project support, and database/system management.
- Independently design, program, test, modify, enhance, maintain, and support applications, with immediate tasks of developing bioinformatics algorithms, tools, and methods for analyzing the large-scale and high throughput genotyping data for copy number changes.
- Perform bioinformatics analyses for various projects, including data preparation, data analysis, data management, and writing of statistical results.
- Work on other bioinformatics projects as needed and required.
- Interact with end-users to facilitate data exchange and data analysis of these projects.
REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, computer science, or related fields.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong genomic data analysis knowledge.
- Strong programming skills in R and/or SAS, C/C++, Perl, SQL, PHP, Java, and HTML.
- Experience with UNIX/LINUX strongly preferred.
- Experience with applied statistics strongly preferred.
- Experience with biological data management strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics resources and software preferred.
- Biomedical background desirable.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary.
- Be accountable and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
