The research project is entitled “Computational approaches to the study of transcriptional dysregulatory programs in cancer and their therapeutic targets” and aims at identifying patterns of molecular dysregulation at transcriptional level in cancer and those proteins in the altered transcriptional programs that could play a role as potential therapeutic targets, by using a bioinformatic approach.
The IMIM is part of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) which joins together different research centers in the scope of life sciences (see http://www.prbb.org), the department of Experimental Sciences and Health of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and which is located next to a hospital, forming one of the most interesting research environments in life sciences in Spain and southern Europe.REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate should hold a degree in life or experimental sciences and a master degree of at least 60 ECTS that proves previous training on fundamental concepts of molecular biology and bioinformatics, particularly necessary is a previous exposure to computer programming and databases, unix operating systems, basics of statistical data analysis and interpretation, and a high degree of motivation for science and research.TERMS
