RESPONSIBILITIES:
Protocol Input, Randomization Schedule, and Database Activities:
- Works with project team to decide on appropriate study design and statistical methodology
- Responsible for comprehensive protocol review Responsible for randomization schedule, sample size and power calculations
- Responsible for assuring that data for statistical analyses are accurate
- Responsible for assuring consistency in CRF and database conventions for their projects/studies
- Responsible for implementation of protocol methodology and statistical analysis plans
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of statistical input into reports or decisions
- Can propose alternative analysis strategies when changes to planned analyses are needed
- Responsible for computer programs that are accurate, efficient and well documented
- Responsible for Statistical Methods section
- Responsible for accuracy of statistical tables and data listings, and accuracy of report text
- Identifies and corrects flaws in interpretation of results, inconsistency in presentation or inference
- Provides significant and timely input to the development of a report strategy
- Collaborates with peers to develop efficient designs, quality protocols and reports per agreed timelines
- Provides accurate and timely answers to routine questions, and knows where to obtain advice when nonstandard questions arise.
- Understands and complies with basic drug development principles.
- Keeps others informed on status of key project deliverables.
- Interacts effectively on a regular basis with statistical programmers, database programmers, and data management personnel.
- Effectively mentors less experienced statisticians
- Can delegate assignments to a limited number of other statisticians and review their work so that project support is delivered on time with suitable quality
- Can provide formal training to statisticians and to non-statisticians on a limited basis
- Can contribute to key initiatives as well as to projects
- Can ensure compliance with Abbott conventions and standards.
- MS in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field with 6-9 years of experience in clinical studies.
- PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field, and 3-5 years of experience in clinical studies.
- Significant experience interacting with clinical research scientists required.
- Good communication skills essential, particularly in writing.
- SAS programming experience required.
- May hire individuals at a hire salary grade, depending on skills and experience.
MS/PHD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field
