• RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position involves implementing IT projects that support genomic technologies across a number of functional areas, focused around Pharmacogenomics and Biomarker Discovery, but also possibly supporting Discovery and Toxicogenomics. The position will entail building strong relationships with these groups, and helping to assess their data management and analysis needs. It will also involve the design, implementation, and support of informatics solutions to meet those needs.

    REQUIREMENTS

    A strong formal education in molecular biology, genetics, or a related field. Working experience and knowledge of the drug discovery and development process Extensive experience with capturing and analyzing business requirements in the drug research domain. Must have demonstrated experience interacting with scientists directly and building relationships across matrixed organizations. Demonstrated experience in developing robust, maintainable software.
    • Must have working experience with standard software development methodologies and lifecycles.
    • Must have knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements and the development of validated software systems for GLP GCP environments.
    • Understanding of object oriented analysis and design is highly desirable.
    • Proficiency with Java and Perl is particularly desirable.
    • Background in statistical programming environments such as SAS and R is highly desirable.
    • A broad technical background is desirable, particularly hands on Unix and Oracle experience.
    Specific experience working inthe Clinical Genomics Biomarker Discovery domain, including:
    • Familiarity withbiomarker discovery technology platforms expression analysis, genotyping, MS, flow cytometry, immunoassays, IHC, imaging, etc.
    • Experience with statistical analysis methods is desirable, particularly around genomic profiling datasets.
    • Familiarity with clinical data management systems.
    • Understanding of clinical genomics data management challenges, including data integration, data security concerns, and anonymization requirements.
