    BACKGROUND

    IO Informatics is headquartered in Berkeley, California. It is at the forefront of a global revolution in software methods for data access and integration.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Report to the Chief Science Office & work closely with IO sales team
    • Responsible for presenting and demonstrating the IO software suite to prospective customers both through web meetings and customer site visits and at trade shows
    • Train customers in use of software and its components
    • Scientific & technical support of customer via phone/email
    • Aid in creating user and training manuals
    • Interactions with engineering staff to apply relevant scientific knowledge to visionary product development and refinement. Provide QA/QC feedback
    • Help capture and refine requirements pertaining to specific customer’s scientific use case
    • Help with installation of application software at customer site
    • Work closely with customer’s Sr. Management, Life Scientists and IT / computer science experts
    • Assist the Chief Scientific Officer in publications, application notes and white papers.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong team spirit and commitment to success of all team members
    • Extensive experience demonstrating and supporting informatics-oriented software applications in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical and / or Biotechnology environments (3+ years) with related BS/MS/PhD degree
    • Understanding of scientific workflows, laboratory instrument interactions and scientific data
    • Ability to discuss informatics software specifically, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, LIMS, SDMS, other Life Science analytical applications, at varying levels of detail
    • Ability to gather market / prospect requirements and scientific use cases and contribute to effective implementation of scientific use cases in complex data environments

    PREFERENCES

    • Knowledge of relational databases
    • Software installation experience
    • Experience with Regulatory Compliance (GxP, CFR 21.11, HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley) environments and software implementation
    • Experience in science-based software documentation, validation and QA methods
    • Experience in scientific publications & scientific conference presentation
