    BACKGROUND

    Join Key Genomics as we build the best pharmacogenomic company in the world with one goal: improving human health through pharmacogenomics. Our algorithms - generated through our COXEN technology - will be in use in molecular diagnostics, clinical trials, and drug discovery/development, in association with partners. We are seeking computational biologists and statisticians at all levels to add to our team, including: Director of Computational Biology

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead and grow the development of Key Genomics' pharmacogenomics bioinformatics platform, COXEN.
    • Use COXEN to predict patient outcomes in critical cancers.
    • Work with pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO partners to generate novel COXEN algorithms and apply existing algorithms across simultaneous projects.
    • Publish research findings.
    • Collaborate with Key Genomics' IT team to continually improve COXEN operations.
    • Participate in setting the Key Genomics research agenda.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong computational biology or computational statistics backgrounds with a Masters degree or Ph.D. in statistics, bioinformatics, or computer science, or similar technical disciplines.
    • Experiences in some of the following areas: classification methods such as SVMs, Markov chain Monte Carlo, gene expression data analysis, and pathway modeling.
    • Statistical computing in R and programming capability in C, C++, and perl are also plus.
    • Significant biology, chemistry, or biochemistry coursework or experience.
    • A history of successful project leadership.
    • Good oral and written communications skills.
    • Ph.D. with industry experience is highly desirable.
