    BACKGROUND

    Postdoctoral position at KULeuven, one of Europe's leading universities.

    The laboratory of Kevin Verstrepen combines theory, bioinformatics and experimental work to study eukaryotic genetics and epigenetics.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Exploring the biological role of tandem repeats in genomes. 2 Setting up and managing our small in-house computational cluster (linked to the university cluster).

    REQUIREMENTS

    The ideal candidate has experience with "omics" data, comparative genomics, visualization, statistics, programming (eg java, Perl, Bioperl, Python...) -and a dose of team spirit and humor. Interested candidates will be given the opportunity to manage junior researchers and set up semi-independent research and help build and manage our computational cluster.

    TERMS

    1 year position with possible extension. Start in January 2009 or later.

    LOCALE

    University of Leuven, Belgium. Leuven is one of Europe's oldest college towns with a typical young, international spirit. English is the main language in the lab, and also widely used off campus.

    COMPENSATION
