    RESPONSIBILITIES

    A position is available for a bioinformatician to work with marine microbial ecologists on genomic and metagenomic analyses of marine bacterial communities. Responsibilities include analyzing metagenomic sequence data, maintaining servers and on-line databases, and working with microbial ecologists to design and implement customized analyses.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Familiarity with bioinformatic methods, computer programming (Perl, BioPerl, and Java), and databases is necessary. Experience with sequence and next-generation sequence data processing is desirable. Completion of an M.S. degree in bioinformatics or related field is preferred; applicants with a B.S. and suitable experience will be considered.
