    BACKGROUND

    Computercraft seeks a highly experienced, self motivated, proteomics data specialist to join a newly formed mass spectrometry data resource project at the National Center for Biotechnology Information, National Library of Medicine. The successful candidate will work onsite at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with experts from the NCBI.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • The candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field
    • Extensive practical experience and knowledge of ms proteomics procedures and analyses
    • Excellent general computer skills and organizational skills are required
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are an absolute requirement

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate will perform the following tasks:
    • Assemble and curate ms/ms datasets submitted by research groups
    • Integrate data submissions with NCBI resources
    • Establish quality control protocols and pipelines
    • Take part in developing standards and formats for data exchange
    • Serve as a liaison between NCBI and other research groups and databases
    • Contribute to site development issues including data query, display and analysis tools
