    RESPONSIBILITIES

The Vertebrate Genomics Team and the Ensembl project at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) seek an experienced and motivated bioinformatician to join our resequencing informatics effort in particular to develop and deploy data management and analysis systems for the 1000 Genomes Project and similar large-scale resequencing efforts in other species. These projects represent data sets that are some of the largest ever collected for biological research and their analysis requires significantly creative approaches.

The Vertebrate Genomics Team at the EBI is an international hub of human variation data as its major projects include the 1000 Genomes data coordination centre, the European Genotype Archive, and the Ensembl project. The EBI is part of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and is located on the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus at Hinxton, near Cambridge, UK.
