    BACKGROUND

    Almac Diagnostics is personalized medicine company whose core expertise is in the provision of genomic-based solutions from our laboratories in EU and USA. We have our own pipeline of genomics based IVD tests in development, all of which have been developed from FFPE tissue. We utilize our experience, expertise and our unique Cancer DSA ™ technology to partner with customers enabling translational genomic solutions for personalized medicine.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate will join a growing bioinformatics team in US to support new technology development effort and genomics services in Almac Diagnostic. The primary focus of this position is to develop and implement bioinformatics or biostatistical solutions for the genomics data or technology platforms that are to be offered and to perform bioinformatics data analysis, reporting and interpretation.

    Develop, implement or adopt preexisting algorithms for genomics based data sets. This will require demonstrated training and/or experience in biostatics and computational biology. The analysis will include using microarrays such as Affymetrix GeneChips, SNP arrays and whole transcripts chips such as Exon arrays for hypothesis testing and pathway analyses. Provide support and consultation with projects regarding experimental design and analysis, and prepare documents of project definition and analysis report and provide interpretation of analysis results and report.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Qualifications:
    • Post graduate training in a related field such as biostatistics, bioinformatics/computational biology, computer science or life sciences, or equivalent technical experience for more than 3 years.
    • Experience or exposure to Exon array, SNP data analysis experience would be an advantage.
    • Strong communication, writing and presentation skills
    • Strong experience in R/Bioconductor and Perl script, and additional expertise in at least one of: MATLAB, Resolver, or Partek.
    • Experience on web-based application development is preferred but not required.

    LOCALE

    We are currently looking for Scientists or Senior Level Scientists within our Durham, North Carolina office.

    COMPENSATION: TBD. Candidates must provide salary requirements for consideration.
