RESPONSIBILITIES

Applications are invited for a Professorial level appointment in Medical Bioinformatics in the Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology (CCRCB) at Queen’s University Belfast. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment at an exciting time for Medical Bioinformatics within Northern Ireland.

The successful individual will play a leading role in promoting the profile of the CCRCB, Queen’s University in Bioinformatics and the All Ireland Institute for Biomedical Informatics (IBI). Based at the new Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology (CCRCB) on the Belfast City Hospital campus, the successful candidate will enhance academic development in Medical Bioinformatics within the new £22 million Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology (http://www.qub.ac.uk/research-centres/CentreforCancerResearchCellBiology/).

The successful individual will develop his/her own academic research programmes and be encouraged to collaborate with other investigators in the Centre.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must hold a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology or a closely related subject.

PREFERENCES

Preference may be given to applicants who have proven ability to collaborate with industry and to commercialise their research.
