RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of clinical informatics programming and support staff.
• Establishes and implements mechanisms and processes, in cooperation with other managers in the Bioinformatics and IT departments, to ensure that staff will have access to a variety of project and support activities and those resources can be pooled and shared, where required, to complete disparate projects.

• Directs the technical, development, analytical, and project efforts of the Client clinical informatics programming and support staff in support of the activities and priorities of the Bioinformatics department and the Client.
• Maintains an effective liaison relationship with other Client departments, vendors, contractors, or other parties deemed necessary to ensure that deliverables and expectations are managed in respect to available resources.
• Resolves technical and business issues related to supported applications. Promotes the continued development of end-user tools to help maximize controlled access to database information by appropriate staff while maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
• Performs project management, analysis and design tasks as required.

• Promotes new and existing applications.
• Develops, directs and performs training on clinical informatics applications as necessary. Works with the Client training department, help desk and other departments as needed to successfully train the intended audience.
• Provides any necessary administrative functions. This may include, but not be limited to, such activities as: assisting in the formation of the Bioinformatics annual budget, negotiation of contracts with external consulting services, providing data and written material in support of annual reports to funding agencies or in response to RFPs, RFAs, etc.
