    BACKGROUND

    The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (VCCRI) provides an outstanding scientific environment with established strength in developmental biology, gene regulation and epigenetics, molecular cardiology and biophysics, structural and computational biology, and cardiac mechanics and transplantation biology.

    The VCCRI is seeking faculty members at the Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor levels. The successful candidate will be provided with laboratory space and significant financial support to rapidly establish their program, and will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of New South Wales.     REQUIREMENTS

    • Applicants will be expected to hold a Ph.D. or M.D. with relevant postdoctoral training.
    • Applicants will have a track record of outstanding research achievements at an international level that has attracted highly competitive peer-reviewed funding.

    PREFERENCES

    • Particularly encouraged to apply are those that address gene regulation at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional levels; bioinformatics, with specific skills in NGS and microarray analysis and systems biology; vascular biology, particularly in terms of neoangiogenesis or vasoregulatory mechanisms; stem cell biology and therapeutic approaches; structural biology; genomics; tissue bioengineering.
    • Preference will be given to applicants performing “cutting-edge” research in areas of cardiovascular science or in disciplines that are relevant to understanding cardiovascular biology or disease pathogenesis at the physiological, molecular, cellular and structural levels.
