RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a talented individual to lead bioinformatics activities at The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) and ensure that TSL continues to be equipped with the necessary expertise and infrastructure in bioinformatics to enable the Laboratory to maintain and develop its world-leading research activities. The post-holder will engage fully in the research interests of TSL Group Leaders and external collaborators, and will also pursue independent research within the portfolio of TSL Science.REQUIREMENTS
- The successful candidate will have advanced skills in a scripting language, preferably Perl and BioPerl, and experience with object-orientated programming/scripting is an advantage.
PREFERENCES
- A good working knowledge of statistics and statistical analysis software, plus experience of web-based genome browser software is also desirable, together with experience of working in a Unix/Linux command line environment.
- Proven line management experience and the ability to establish and develop key networks and collaborators are also important aspects of this role.

This full time position will be available for five years in the first instance.LOCALE

Salary will be within the UEA ALC staff Grade 8, at between 37,651 and 47,666 GBP per annum and the appointment level will reflect the qualifications, skills, knowledge and achievements of the successful candidate.
