This researcher will join a growing computational biology group to undertake projects and collaborations in the area of large scale genomic data mining. Specifically, applicants are sought for work on funded projects involving functional network analysis of pathogen populations and metagenomic communities. This will include methodology development for functional analysis of uncharacterized microbes, microbial communities, and human microflora, as well as applied work on pathogen data from experimental collaborators.REQUIREMENTS
- Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
- Familiarity with diverse genomic data types, particularly microarray and/or short-read sequencing integration and meta-analysis, as indicated by publication record
- Proficient in C/C++ and/or appropriate scripting languages
- Ability to communicate scientific material and collaborate well
LOCALE
Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, MA, USA. The Huttenhower group is located within the Biostatistics department and works with the HSPH Bioinformatics Core and the Biology and Public Health program, resulting in a rich environment for quantitative, computational, and laboratory collaborations.HOW TO APPLY
