BACKGROUND

The Departments of Biology and Chemistry at Loyola University Chicago invite applications for a joint position in Proteomics at the Assistant Professor level, beginning in August 2010 (pending final funding). The candidate will also join the 20-member faculty in the interdisciplinary Bioinformatics B.S. degree program that was launched in 2005. RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate is expected to maintain a competitive, externally funded research program involving undergraduate, M.S., and Ph.D. students. Teaching responsibilities include Proteomics, Molecular Biology, and a graduate level seminar in the appointee’s area of expertise.

REQUIREMENTS

A Ph.D. in Biology (or appropriate sub-discipline), Chemistry or Biochemistry is required, as is relevant postdoctoral experience.

PREFERENCES

Applicants from all areas of Proteomics will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates whose research focus would engender collaboration with existing faculty.

TERMS

This is a nine-month, tenure-track, academic year appointment.
