    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The leader of the Oncology disease biomarker team is accountable for biomarker planning and delivery within individual projects for this therapeutic area.

    By exercising appropriate guidance, the team leader is responsible for biomarker strategic planning and implementation of specific assays to meet program objectives at multiple points during early development. The TA leader collaborates closely with colleagues in early discovery and clinical development to support compound development plans including response prediction, safety, proof of mechanism and proof of concept studies.

    Additional responsibilities include coordination of strategic collaborations and alliances with both internal and external business partners. The Oncology biomarker leader is responsible for data generation, interpretation and communication to internal and external stakeholders.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • PhD or MD or PhD with a minimum of 10 years postgraduate experience is required.
    • The position requires an intimate knowledge of cancer biology and exploratory drug development coupled with experience in a broad range of biomarker discovery technologies and strategies.
    • Demonstrable experience with analysis and interpretation of complex datasets is a must.
    • Superior ability to collaborate, delegate, and manage teams within a matrix environment is expected.
    • The position requires excellence in translational research and application of diverse skills to guide early clinical development and biomarker strategy.
    • The successful candidate will have a solid background in cancer biology with expertise in genomics, proteomics and molecular pathology.
    • This position requires familiarity with biomarker and diagnostic tools including application of biochemical, genomic, and imaging technologies for the identification, development and implementation of novel biomarker measurements.
    • Excellent leadership, mentoring, communication and partnering skills are essential to success in this position.

    PREFERENCES

    • Prior industry or diagnostic experience will be viewed favorably.
    • Familiarity with bioimaging modalities is desirable.
