Work in a collaborative environment dedicated to the rapid discovery of the causes of human cancer and their rational targeting (Computational Biology Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center).RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with a team of cancer and computational biologists developing algorithms and analysis tools for the integrative analysis of datasets from high-throughput technological platforms, principally next-generation massively parallel sequencing methodologies. Together with significant experience in computer programming and computational biological applications, a strong background in statistics and related approaches is required.REQUIREMENTS
- PhD or equivalent in biological science, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics or related field with strong quantitative background
- Proficiency with Unix, scientific computing software (Matlab, R), and scripting languages (Perl or Python) is required.
- Ability to quickly master new computational tools
PREFERENCES
- Experience managing large-scale data sets and performing bioinformatics and sequence analysis is desired.
- Excellent communication skills, personal initiative, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are also desired.
