Research within the Target Structure Based Drug Discovery Group on the therapeutic discovery effort for cancers and mechanism of actions of many Class A biothreat agents using computational biology. Both of these efforts utilize targets common to apoptosis such as kinases and phosphatases. The analysis and informatics approach for relevant systems biological explorations has become a new priority in this program. A principal part of this mission includes the creation of hypotheses to investigate cellular pathways to uncover new targets that eventually will support small molecule combination strategies as countermeasures.
