    RESPONSIBILITIES

    We are seeking a bioinformatician with proven experience in system administration, and preferably a working knowledge of genomic databases and software, to join a dedicated team in the GenePool, the University of Edinburgh's advanced sequencing and bioinformatics facility: http://genepool.bio.ed.ac.uk

    The GenePool Bioinformatician will maintain and develop the computing infrastructure within the GenePool, manage the data storage and analysis flows for the next-generation sequencing activities, and integrate the GenePool's computing requirements with the wider grid-computing infrastructures in the University and beyond.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A graduate qualification is expected, along with at least two years experience in computing or bio-computing
    • Significant experience of mixed systems administration, networking, data-storage, and programming is essential
    TERMS: Fixed Term: 3 Years

    LOCALE: Edinburgh, UK

    SALARY & COMPENSATION: Salary range: 29,704-35,469 GBP pa
