RESPONSIBILITIES
MSc or PhD graduate student position is available in the Gilleard lab at the University of Calgary to start either May or September 2010 graduate school entry dates.
This project is part of a collaborative nematode genomics research program between the Gilleard lab and the pathogen sequencing group at Sanger Institute, Cambridge UK. The project will involve the use of “next generation” sequence data to annotate a newly sequenced parasitic nematode genome and to investigate differential gene expression between drug resistant and susceptible parasites. The successful candidate will have strong background in bioinformatics with some programming experience being highly desirable. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills are also important criteria.
