    RESPONSIBILITIES

    We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary team of mathematical and biological scientists affiliated with the Tulane/Xavier Center for Bioenvironmental Research and the Tulane Cancer Center. The successful candidate will join Tulane University’s developing Bioinformatics Core and will contribute to research projects requiring the analysis of microarrays and other high-throughput experiments. This position also offers opportunities to contribute to ongoing projects in the areas of phylogenetics, sequence analysis, and molecular modeling. Development of an independent research program within the scope of the overall objectives of the Tulane Bioinformatics Core will be strongly encouraged.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Candidates should hold a PhD in computer science, statistics, computational biology, or bioinformatics with significant experience in the analysis of large datasets. Good communication skills, facility with database manipulation and management, and the ability to work with an interdisciplinary team are essential for this position.

    TERMS

    A two-year appointment, beginning August 1st (other start dates are negotiable).

    LOCALE: New Orleans, LA

    SALARY & COMPENSATION: Competitive.
