BACKGROUND
SRA is assisting NIH to collect, sequence, and characterize diseased tissues by supporting data management. We are responsible for data collection, transformation, dissemination, and quality control of this biological data. We also establish and implement standard operating procedures for the transmission, processing, and storage of data by leveraging existing NIH resources for the analysis and storage of information.RESPONSIBILITIES
Will support PM, Tech Lead, and Bioinformatics Scientists in the coordination of and reporting on a variety of working group meetings for a large scientific program, tracking issues and questions. Will assist in communicating requirements to a software team from senior biologists, managing issues via a Jira ticketing system. Will also perform some functional testing of Web applications and assist in refinement of requirements with the senior bioinformatics scientists.REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Some IT experience or aptitude to communicate with members of a software development team
- Ability to communicate with senior biologists
- Ability to manage issues (via a ticket system) submitted by the project team and end users
- Ability to track issues and questions from multiple components of a large Gov’t project at many distributed sites, and route information to appropriate people
- Ability to write and manage project reports and documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask well
PREFERENCES
- Some knowledge of HTML and troubleshooting desired.
- Ability to use a Wiki
