    Nodality is a venture capital-funded biotechnology company headquartered in South San Francisco, CA, dedicated to using advanced biological characterization technology to improve the treatment of patients with cancer. The company's initial primary areas of focus include hematological malignancies and autoimmune disorders.


    • Work closely on a team with representation from research biology, instrumentation, biostatistics, clinical, and other computational scientists in all project phases from experimental design through data analysis and presentation.
    • Hands-on data quality control and management.
    • Identify and implement data analysis work flows.
    • Accurately estimate timelines and resources needed to meet project team objectives.
    • Contribute to research study designs, protocols, and report preparation.
    • Participate in developing and testing novel QA/QC metrics for instrumentation and reagent development and qualification.
    • Explore, implement, and evaluate novel analysis methods, algorithms and metrics for Single Cell Network Profiling data.
    • Work exclusively in multi-disciplinary teams.


    We are seeking a computational scientist with experience in bioinformatics research, preferably in predictive/prognostic tests, medical devices, or therapeutics in an industrial setting.

    The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience with:
    • Applying computational methods and data analytics to biologically relevant problems in close collaboration with experimentalists
    • Delivering reliably high-quality work product on aggressive timelines
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of success in team-oriented environments
    • High-level problem solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • A Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science or related field
    • Post-doctoral experience in an industrial setting is a definite plus
    • Demonstrated willingness to be hands-on and pro-active
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
    • Practical software engineering and programming experience in Windows and Linux environments with a strong preference for Python proficiency
    • Experience with popular statistical packages such as R, SAS, and JMP
    • Comfortable in a dynamic, rapidly changing, and highly competitive industrial environment
    • Able to work effectively with internal and external colleagues and collaborators, both academic and industrial
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
    • Knowledge of multicolor flow cytometry a definite plus
    • Knowledge of C# and/or C++ programming languages is a plus
    This position is based in Nodality’s South San Francisco, California site. Periodic travel to our Nashville, Tennessee location is expected.
