    BACKGROUND

    Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home of three Nobel laureates, is an independent, nonprofit research institution dedicated to the development and advancement of biomedical research to eliminate cancer and other potentially fatal diseases. Recognized internationally for its pioneering work in bone-marrow transplantation, the Center’s four scientific divisions collaborate to form a unique environment for conducting basic and applied science. The Hutchinson Center, in collaboration with its clinical and research partners, the University of Washington and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Pacific Northwest.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Bradley group in the Computational Biology Program (Division of Public Health Sciences) is recruiting a Post Doctoral Research Fellow to develop algorithms and potential functions for structure-based prediction of protein-protein and protein-DNA interaction specificity. The fellow will integrate data from structural modeling with information from other bioinformatics algorithms and experimental techniques to predict biologically relevant interactions.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A PhD in a relevant field including computer sciences, bioinformatics, computational biology, biochemistry, or molecular biology or a presumptive PhD degree completed by the start date is required.
    • To be considered for this position you must have strong programming skills and familiarity with the basics of molecular biology and biochemistry.

    PREFERENCES

    • Experience working with a molecular modeling software package is preferred but not required.
