    BACKGROUND

    A position is available in the Barts Cancer Centre for an experienced Bioinformaticist, based at the Barts and London Medical School, Charterhouse Square Campus in the City of London.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The appointee will be responsible for organising and assisting with all the cancer genomics studies undertaken by the group. This will involve data generated by new state-of-the-art array technology including high throughput sequencers (454-Roche and Illumina).

    REQUIREMENTS

    • The successful candidate should have experience/working knowledge in management of large genomic data sets. Experience with statistical methodology would be an advantage. Opportunities will exist for further training in this exciting area.
    • Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.

    TERMS

    This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 30 months. Future funding of the post is determined by 3-yearly performance review of the Centre by Cancer Research UK.

    SALARY & COMPENSATION

    Starting salary will be in the range of £30,229-£39,627 per annum inclusive of London Allowance, depending on experience. The benefits package for this post includes 30 days annual leave plus; a contributory final salary pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
