    BACKGROUND

    Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is the world's oldest and largest private institution devoted to prevention, patient care, research and education in cancer.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Design and develop complex data analysis systems in support of cancer genomics research projects at the Computational Biology Center. Join and work closely with an in-house development team and participate in several development and analysis projects. You will design, develop & deploy new & existing systems, work closely with researchers to obtain user requirements & propose software architecture, algorithms and project plans and perform in-depth evaluation of data and information to solve complex problems. Additionally, you will engage in document planning, design, and issue resolution and plan project requirements.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years of software development experience and expert knowledge of Java, SQL, and HTML.

    PREFERENCES

    • Knowledge of MySQL, Maven, Hibernate, Spring, and Subversion along with knowledge of relational database design and performance tuning a strong plus.
    • A strong interest in contributing to biological research with clinical applications and prior involvement or interest in bioinformatics or cancer genomics domain a plus.
