    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. A postdoctoral researcher is sought to conduct fundamental computational research to understand molecular origins of aggregation in protein therapeutics, especially monoclonal antibodies and antibody based therapeutics. The research shall involve an inter-disciplinary mix of statistical analyses, bioinformatics, high performance grid computing, molecular biophysics, molecular modeling, and simulation techniques to advance our understanding of protein structure-function-aggregation relationships and mechanism(s) of aggregation. The researcher shall be expected to develop novel approaches to detect aggregation prone regions and three dimensional aggregation prone motifs and suggest ways to improve manufacturability of biotherapeutics via rational design.

    2. The successful candidate shall be high motivated, intelligent, independent, hard working, productive and team player. He/she shall be expected to publish in high impact scientific journals and also contribute towards Pfizer’s scholarship/expertise on aggregation.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Education:
    • Recent Ph.D. in Computational Biophysics or related fields. DESIRABLE: One or two years of independent postdoctoral research experience.
    Work Experience/Skills:
    • Advanced understanding of fundamental issues in protein structure-function and aggregation
    • Expertise in computer programming, molecular modeling and simulations of peptides and proteins
    • Experience with statistics, bioinformatics and computational biology, algorithm development and grid computing
    • Experience with scientific manuscript preparation
    • Good communication and inter-personal skills; fluent in written and oral English
