    BACKGROUND

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Applications are invited for a database developer position, focusing on digital curation and data management in bioinformatics studies. The developer will be responsible for database development, data exchange standards, submission to public archives, and support for web application development.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • The candidate should hold a BS or MS in a scientific or engineering discipline and have completed coursework in computer science or bioinformatics.
    • Applicants should have experience in database management, server management, and web-based programming.
    • Additional experience in parallel computing would be helpful.
    If possible, please provide examples of completed projects or applications written by you.

    TERMS

    The position will be a contract position for one year, with a possible extension to two.

    LOCALE

    Most work will be completed at the University of Pennsylvania in the lab of Frederic Bushman, Philadelphia, PA.

    COMPENSATION: Salary commensurate with experience.
