    BACKGROUND

    BIOGEMMA is an AgroBiotech AgBio company aggregating research activities for 3 international breeding companies. Located in France and US, Biogemma have a recognized expertise in Crops Genomics, Gene Discovery, Quantitative Genetics, Transgenesis and Informative Marker Development.
    Biogemma Upstream Genomics team is involved in bioinformatics, transcriptomics, targeted genomic enrichment and NGS sequencing for marker development as well as genome and transcriptome characterization.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a member of the Upstream Genomics team, you will experiment the exciting challenge of crops genomes computing, and participate in project design and results analysis in a multidisciplinary environment.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • You should have significant experience in the analysis of high-throughput genomic datasets derived from NGS technologies as well as familiarity with available third party software packages useful to analyze these data.
    • Intimate knowledge of clustering, assembly and reads mapping software is essential.
    • You should have an MS degree in Genomics and Bioinformatics and have demonstrated solid understanding of analytical techniques associated with Next Generation Sequencing data.
    • Knowledge in crop genomics, genetics based on a 2 or more year experience in a major public lab is essential.
    • Fluency with Perl, general programming languages including popular scripting languages is desirable. R is an advantage.

    PREFERENCES

    • Good scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills (French is an advantage but not mandatory).
    • Ideally, you will feel comfortable working closely with wet lab research teams to design custom analysis

    TERMS

    12-month contract, full time.

    LOCALE

    The position is open in Clermont-Ferrand, FRANCE.

    COMPENSATION

    Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
