RESPONSIBILITIES
Position in Systems Biology in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neurosciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center
The successful candidate will use computational approaches and statistical analysis in parallel with gene/protein functional annotation tools to analyze proteomic and transcriptomic data relevant to neurodegenerative and/or infectious diseases. Individual will interact with investigators including neuroscientists, molecular biologists, virologists, statisticians and computer scientists both in our department at the College of Medicine at UNMC and our collaborators at the College of Information Science and Technology at the adjacent UN Omaha.REQUIREMENTS
- A doctorate degree from an accredited college/university in a discipline related to biomedical research is required; productive postdoctoral experience is required for the Instructor-level position.
- Training or experience in bioinformatics is required, using tools such as R/BioConductor, Partek, GenePattern and Cytoscape to analyze and visualize large datasets.
- Entry or middle level knowledge of relevant programming languages is required.
