RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical Science & Computing, Inc. is currently searching for an experienced Bioinformatics Analyst to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC and it is on-site at the NIH in Bethesda/Rockville, MD.
The ideal candidate with bioinformatics expertise will work closely with NIH scientists to provide customized solutions for a broad variety of biological experiments in the subject areas of immunology and infectious diseases, analyze microarray and Next Gen sequencing data, write programs and statistical applications.REQUIREMENTS
- ** Please note that you must have already completed your PhD.
- PhD in life sciences and bioinformatics-related experience required
- Ability to write computer programs and scripts
- Experience with microarray analysis and data sequencing in multiple settings
- Strong interest in using exploratory and statistical data analysis to reveal biological relationships
- Previous experience working with biologists supporting multiple bioinformatics projects required
- Demonstrated ability to solve biologically-relevant problems requiring novel applications of exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis or literature mining
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required
- Attention to detail, time management skills, ability to work independently with a high level of personal and professional drive and initiative required, ability to manage time between multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
