    BACKGROUND

    Multiple Ph.D. and a post-doctoral position in the general area of bioinformatics are open in the Applied Algorithmics Lab at the University of Connecticut.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Conduct research in the area of motif search and related areas.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • The candidates for PhD Research Assistant positions should have strong analytical and algorithmic skills.
    • The post-doctoral candidates should have a strong background in bioinformatics (especially involving algorithms).
    • They must have received or be very close to getting their PhD's.
    • Publications in relevant Bioinformatics venues are expected.

    PREFERENCES

    • Individuals with a background in bioinformatics and algorithms.
    • Familiarity with motif search algorithms will be a plus.

    TERMS

    These are one-year appointments with a possibility of extensions.

    LOCALE

    Applied Algorithmics Lab., University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT, USA.

    COMPENSATION

    Commensurate with experience.
