BACKGROUND
SRA conducts, coordinates, and analyzes clinical and experimental studies to inform health research. This practice area addresses preventative, diagnostic, and therapeutic issues in a public health context, including research in cancer, asthma, allergies, diabetes, infectious diseases, genomics, nutrition, reproductive health, and environmental health.RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide System Administrator support for Scientific Systems and Applications at the CDC. Successful applicants will maintain and tune LINUX High Performance Computing Cluster and NVIDIA GPU computer cluster and individual LINUX servers, maintain operating systems, keep security systems up to date, work with CDC network team to trouble-shoot network issues, ensure data integrity and safety of systems, manage users, install scientific software, keep hardware and software up to date and ensure transfer of large data files between machines.REQUIREMENTS
- Years of experience (min): 3-5
- Degree: Bachelors
- Skills: Linux High Performance Cluster management, experience with hardware installation, configuration, and updates
- Experience in working in scientific computing environment
- Software patches, job scheduling, system backups
- Strong communication skills

- Masters Degree
- Skills: Linux High Performance Cluster management and NVIDIA GPU Computer Cluster
