RESPONSIBILITIES
The Global Medical Director, Neuroscience, Early Assets & Emerging Markets, based in Lawrenceville, NJ or in the emerging markets and part of the Global Medical Head Quarters team will be leading the efforts around gaining an in-depth understanding of the treatment landscape in the emerging markets focused on all assets across the NS core disease areas of focus in Alzheimer's disease, Major Depression, Migraine, Neuropathic Pain and Schizophrenia. He or she will be responsible to work with the cross functional teams and develop a framework to evaluate the state of medical treatments, market access, clinical development, regulatory pathways across the NS core disease areas mentioned above in the Emerging Markets concentrating on India and China in the near term. He or she will build alignment across team members to prioritize the objectives and subsequent activities within the medical plan for various assets with emphasis on the needs of the emerging markets.
For the early NS assets in the areas of Migraine and Neuropathic Pain, he or she will lead the planning and execution of several Global Scientific Advisory Boards and play a key role in the development of the Global Medical Plan. He or she will also be responsible for the "Design for Value" analysis to identify evidence gaps between the development program and needs in the real world and develop a prioritized data generation & dissemination strategy. The Global Medical Director will develop a Global Thought Leader interface plan in the areas of Migraine and neuropathic Pain and provide strategic direction into the Scientific Communication strategy for the asset. The Global Medical Director will partner with other Global colleagues in Clinical Research, Discovery, Regulatory, Commercial, Market Access, Health Outcomes and work closely with the US, EU and other prioritized market Medical Leads.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have an advance degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD.) with 5 or more years of experience working in the Psychiatry/Neurology area in the pharmaceutical industry (medical affairs background preferred). The candidate should also have experience working with national and regional physician thought leaders in Psychiatry/Neurology, strong analytical skills, an ability to evaluate scientific data and medical literature and extrapolate them to medical, marketing, or sales programs, strong project management skills and ability to work effectively with cross functional teams including clinical, marketing, sales, medical science, and should be highly organized and motivated individual with ability to develop and coordinate multiple projects and initiatives, possessing excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong
