RESPONSIBILITIES
The Bioinformatics Scientist is responsible for satisfying Bioinformatics data management and analysis requirements. Responsibilities include developing systems for the validation, storage and analysis of genetic information, overseeing scientific methods incorporated in system development projects, conducting scientific research in the areas of immunogenetics, bioinformatics and population genetics.REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics, Immunology, Population Genetics, or a technical field that required extensive statistical or scientific analysis as part of the degree program
- Master degree in Genetics, Immunology, Population Genetics, or a technical field that required extensive statistical or scientific analysis or progress in a PhD degree program preferred
- Minimum Experience: Two years experience as a geneticist, or scientific analyst in a research environment that required programming
- Other Requirements: Programming skills in C, C++ or Java; SAS or another statistical software package; Perl and/or UNIX
- Experience with database design and queries
