Our staff helps deliver this cutting-edge science, service and support to patients and their families.RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technical Lead is responsible for the underlying architecture for the software program, as well as for overseeing the work being done by any other software engineers working on the project. A lead programmer will act as a mentor for new programmers, as well as for all members on the development team. This person will interface between the programmers and management, and leads technical knowledge and technical systems review.REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Biology. However, upon evaluation, equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for degree requirement.
- Minimum Experience: Six years technical work experience in a software development environment which included five years experience performing software development on proprietary software applications
- 4 years work or educational experience in a clinical setting, preferably relating to molecular biology
- Five years experience with enterprise programming with at least 2 years of advanced n-tier application architecture experience
- Experience with relational databases and object-relational mapping required
- Proficient using RUP and UML
- Requires ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lead teams in complex development projects is needed.
- Fundamental project management experience and full technical knowledge of all phases of project development or in the modification efforts of new or existing software is required.
PREFERENCES
- Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies along with experience in regulatory oversight is required.
- Knowledge of application framework architecture, application servers, application security, distributed application security, database environment, data-driven application methodologies
- Knowledge of molecular biology, Histocompatibility and/or the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) system
- Expert technical skills with enterprise frameworks (Java EE or .NET), Messaging Design, Web services and relational database technology
- Excellent written and oral communications skills required
- Ability to prioritize own work and the work of others, multi-task, and meet deadlines
