    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Complete Genomics is seeking a gifted software engineer or computer scientist to develop algorithms and engineer solutions to analyze genomic variants and process next-generation DNA sequencing data. The role will require conceiving of algorithms and approaches to solve key problems in the re-sequencing pipeline, then designing, developing, testing, and deploying pragmatic solutions. The new hire will work on a pipeline that each day transforms trillions of sequenced bases into high quality human genome analyses.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Exceptional computational and analytic abilities, with demonstrated experience solving large scale programming problems
    • Strong algorithm and implementation skills. Prior experience with C/C++, network & distributed computing, framework/API design, data structures and file formats, and Linux/Unix environments
    • Hungry to solve problems that significantly impact the customer experience
    • Bioinformatics, scientific computing, numerical processing experience a plus.
    • Strong desire to learn basic genomics and other knowledge relevant to the role
    • 7+ years of experience designing and developing software, including at least 2 years of industry (or equivalent) experience
    • BS or MS in computer science, or equivalent experience (PhD a plus)
    • Good collaboration & communication skills, ability to participate in interdisciplinary team

    • Currently only candidates based in the U.S. will be considered.
